Carl Bouthilette-Malo: Inventory Count

In addition to having worked on assurance mandates, I was assigned, on several occasions, to inventory counts. As inventory counts are conducted on-site, I was able to visit our clients’ warehouses located in various areas on the island of Montreal as well as one in Plattsburgh, USA. Each inventory count is conducted by two people – this allowed me to get better acquainted with many members of my team on an individual level. I was able to learn more about their professional lives as accountants and be included in the RSM Richter Chamberland team. These one-day mandates allowed me to better understand the logistics behind inventories and to realize the importance of the accuracy of the inventory account. I discovered that numbers are more than “just numbers”; they are a reflection of reality.
