As I made my way to work on the first day, I couldn’t help but feel nervous and wonder what would be expected of me. I had never had a job in the accounting field and had no idea what it would be like. To say the least, I didn’t even know what accounting software looked like! This feeling was instantly set aside when I got to the office and realized that most, if not all, of the other interns were in the same boat as me. It was very comforting walking into the training room and recognizing some faces from the dinner at Bice and the 5 à 7 at Sharx.
The trip that we took to the Eastern Townships during the second week of the internship was so much fun! It was full of team building activities that required us to work together and constantly communicate with each other. Going out on the lake at night with a bonfire attached to the boat was AMAZING even though I did manage to fall in somehow! It was so peaceful and relaxing and really gave us the opportunity to talk and get to know each other better. We all instantly became very close and since then continue to make plans outside of work. I never knew I could make 23 new friends so quickly!

It's great that your team didn't stick to the conventional way of training. Sitting all day while listening to long lectures would be oh-so-boring! Good thing you have enjoyed your training. I'm sure you learned a lot using those accounting software, which can surely aide you in your work.

I liked the fact that the training was practical and theoretical rather than strictly theoretical. We were first told what the software is and why it is being used followed by an explanation on how it works. Once everyone understood the mechanics, practice cases were given out as a means of becoming both familiar and comfortable with the software.
The training also included a review on basic accounting theories including tax and audit. In my opinion, the training was very well done. The trainers were well prepared and ready to answer any questions the interns asked.

Using software to assist you in your accounting needs is going to help make things easier. It's good that you've undergone training on how to use an accounting software. How was your training, by the way? Did it help you understand the things you need to know about accounting, and how the software can help you with those?
